A Message from the Creators

Hello. We're Rhett & Link, and we assume you're visiting this page because you suffer from an addiction to Lost. We can relate. Over a year ago, we began to feel as if the island was somehow affecting our real lives through the television.

In March of last year, Link began to regularly see his long-deceased dog, Tucker. He would show up in his bathtub, panting as if he was ready for a bath. Link would leave the room to fetch a sponge, and upon returning, Tucker would be gone. On a camping trip in 2007, Rhett was escorted to an old cabin by a boy who looked a bit like Walt. There, he had a brief conversation with Jacob and subsequently soiled himself.

After these events, our personal and professional lives began to spiral out of control, and our friends and family pleaded with us to get help. With no established organizations or self-help groups to turn to, we began to explore ways to deal with the problem on our own. In January of this year, just before the Lost season premiere, we developed Perspective.

Perspective has radically transformed our lives. Not only are we able to experience Lost in a healthy and appropriate way, but Link hasn't seen Tucker in 8 weeks, and Rhett hasn't been camping at all. We no longer think about Lost throughout the course of our day, and we are able to constantly remind ourselves that the characters from the show are just actors.

The side effects of Perspective have been just as welcomed, too. Rhett was seriously considering buying a jet-ski with his credit card, but it looks like he might just rent one during his next trip to the lake. Also, Link was planning to convert his master bedroom into a home theater, and he and his wife were going to share a bedroom with the kids. Now, it looks like they're just going to invite themselves over to Rhett's in-law's house, because they already have a home theater.

Finally, Perspective enabled us to be willing to begin a live web show that airs at the same time as Lost. Late last year, we started the RhettandLinKast LIVE, an hour long, interactive internet show every Thursday at 9PM EST (6PM PST, 8PM Central, 2AM GMT). Hosting a show each week while Lost is on the air and watching it later on a DVR has enhanced the effect of Perspective in our lives. If you're struggling, try Perspective, and join us on Thursday nights.

Thank you,

Rhett & Link
