Enjoy last night's show now. I (Link) held down the fort while Rhett was doing some reconnaissance at the local hospital. I don't want to spoil it for you--but, he was successful at finding a newborn child there to call his own. Wow. This show contains the pictures to prove it:

PS- It's not too late to participate in the CBE! Do it!
Baby is a cutie, I though he might be coming when I saw Rhett and Locke walking down our street at 1:30 am. Congratulations!

Aaww, Link c'mon! Isn't the baby the cutest thing! Just like Link to be suspicious of somehting like that! Congrats, Rhett!
"We switched in the nursery." "You gave someone else the ugly one." Lol! No offense Rhett.
This is like the longest viedo ever but it's good.
Bearatone sounds cool. I probably didn't spell that right.

"Things are gonna change around here dang it."

So excited for you! August 22nd. Remember that. For the next 18 years people in professional fields will be asking you for her birthdate, possibly to prove that you really ARE her dad. Takes a year or two to get it down so it sounds like you DO know the answer. In your case it will be eight twenty two oh eight. Blessings on your family and congratulations!

Mamacitax7, to your question about whether Locke and Shepherd were inspired by Lost...No. We almost didn't use Shepherd because of this, but we figured we'd go for it. You're the first person to point this out. For the record, Locke was born before Lost ever aired, and my wife really like Shepherd for a number of reasons. Are we Lost fans? YES....favorite show. But the names are a coincidence. Thanks for asking!

The difference between a six pound baby and a 9 pound baby may not seen like a lot to fathers but as a mother it makes a big difference :)
caytw · Aug 22, 2008 7:39pm
...I always knew it was said Rett.
and I think naming a child Baritone would be kind of mean. D;
Such a cute kid, though.
And iPhone.
Good job, Link.
:D

Link did a fine job at the helm last night and driving the show solo in Rhett's absence. Nice telephone interview with Rhett from the hospital too!
Thanks, Rhett, for sharing the pictures of little Shepherd. My kids want to know if you and your wife are 'LOST' fans...John LOCKE and Jack SHEPHERD are popular characters on that show...
Dan's cheese video montage was great, it really gave me encouragement about the cheese video response my family is doing!
And if I was excited about the Maine Man video before, I am UBER excited about it now after seeing the clip on the show!! You guys keep getting better and better. I suspect that it will be my favorite of the whole series. :) Alka-Seltzer got a gold mine of talent when they signed you guys on for the Great American Road Trip.

Great job taking the helm, Link! I really started laughing hard with the pictures of the baby iPhone. But Shephard is an adorible baby! Congrats Rhett!
mcmo · Aug 22, 2008 3:53pm

Awesome (:
Good band.
Raquel TWG · Aug 22, 2008 3:38pm

Great Job hosting last night Link every week the R&L kast brings something new/ original to the metaphorical table. And this week was interesting to say the least, i dont think i have ever seen a host interview their (co-)host on a show before. Congrats to Rhett on his newborn (and correctly spelled) boy, Shepherd and congrats to Link on holding down the fort so nicely.
an interesting observations: this has to be one of the first times that link pronounced it north caroLINA... does rhett have some sort of presense that alters link's soundwaves to say Cak-laka?
CLaire · Aug 22, 2008 2:45pm
What the loyal Rhett and Link fan(or Link fan) would say is --------- GOOD SHOW! Congrats to Rhett!!
Jonathan · Aug 22, 2008 1:42pm
As usual, it was a wonderful show! Very nice job going solo for the evening, Link!
Rhett's new son looks adorable! I wish Rhett and his family the best of luck with the newborn! Congratulations!!!
Anna · Aug 22, 2008 10:43am
Link, you did an awesome job of hosting last night! I was hoping you'd use the WebcamMax (You guys use that, right?) doodle feature to draw a line through Rhett's name for last night...Meh, a boy can dream.
Also, i agree with funk, Nana should have co-hosted! Imagine that!
And, again, congrats to Rhett and his MANY family members who were at the hospital last night.
flipperz (Shane) · Aug 22, 2008 10:38am
Great show Link! I can't imagine having to do all of that alone. Good job on keeping it all together.
Congrats Rhett on the super cute baby! Hope you'll be back next week with some non-graphic baby type stories.
sunny_gf · Aug 22, 2008 10:07am
Link you did a great job last night flying solo...however, i do have to admit that i was wishing upon a star that nana was going to help co-host....just think... the Link and Nanakast Live!
